- 3 c whole wheat (or spelt, barley, oat, or kamut) flour
- 2 Tbs flax seed (milled or whole)
- 2 Tbs sesame seeds
- 2 Tbs cane sugar or ¼ tsp stevia powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 ½ c low fat non-dairy beverage (soy and oat work nicely)
- ¼ c safflower oil (or 1/8 c safflower oil and 1/8 c apple sauce)
|
1. Mix dry ingredients together in large mixing bowl.
2. Add in soy/oat milk and oil (or oil/apple sauce) and mix thoroughly.
3. If mixture is sticking to your hands, kneed in extra flour until its more manageable.
4. Lightly oil baking sheet and form dough into 8-10 inch diametre, 2 inch thick mass.
5. Cook in pre-heated 375 F oven for 35-45 min.
This is a great base - experiment: (ie: make with oat flour and add cinnamon and raisins, or try different types of seeds).
