Veggie.ca will be featuring a business in Canada that goes out of its way to provide veggie eaters with something special. We will keep the profiles archived on the site just in case you want to read them over and over and over again!

Beyond Bliss, situated in Killaloe, Ontario, is a vegetarian catering company who are now marketing some of their most successful dishes in health food stores and markets in Killaloe (‘Grandma's Pantry'), Perth (‘Foodsmiths') , the Pembroke market (Thursdays in the summer months) and the Carp market (Saturday in the summer months). Good news for Ottawa residents: Beyond Bliss is currently going through the necessary channels to market their incredible veggie eats in 6 different Ottawa area Health Food stores (we will post the names and locations on the veggie.ca message board when confirmation has been received).

So beyond providing gourmet quality fresh and frozen foods to vegetarians and vegans, Beyond Bliss does so in the most healthful way possible, for us and our planet. Cheryl and Frank, the co-owners and operators of Beyond Bliss, operate their business out of their home which is powered by wind and sun! In order to have enough energy to run their home and business, they have 38 solar panels and 1 large windmill. They cook with wood in the winter and propane in the summer. Their own large organic garden and greenhouse provides the majority of the produce that go into the meals and what they don't grow themselves comes from a hand full of neighbours via the more-than-fair exchange of give us your veggies and we'll feed you the gourmet finished product that results! Co-operative community gardening may not be big agri-business, but it is much more sustainable. They grow the foods for fresh cooking in the spring, summer and fall months and preserve the rest for winter. Some of the ingredients in the dishes change according to what is in season - a true marker of the level of dedication that Cheryl and Frank have when it comes to providing high quality.
